
Shante' Dorin: Shante' Dorin has been an honor roll student since starting kindergarten, and still maintaining her honor status in the eighth grade! She has always received first and second honors throughout her school years. Shante’ loves school and her perfect attendance proves it. Last year, Shante’ received the President's Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence. Shante' currently sings on the St. John Apostolic Church Faith choir and is an active praise dancer. She is also a member of the West Oak Lanecharter school track team, in which she received many awards for her outstanding performance.
Shante’ had a tough decision ahead of her as she decided which high school she would attend this fall. Specifically, she was accepted into the following schools, to name a few…William Penn Charter, Central High School and Girls High School.
And the winner of the high school Shante chose is.......(drum roll please)...........

Shynera Dorin: Not to be outdone by her sister, Shynera is also an honor roll student in her school and continues to receive first and second honors as well! Shynera graces the members of the St. John Apostolic Church’s ears with her beautiful voice while singing on their Faith choir, and participates in praise dancing. She also has perfect attendance and received many awards from school for her outstanding academics.

Ciani Kensey: Ciani Kensey continues to make us proud by working hard to bring up her grades in Science. Her hard work and dedication to being the best student she can be is certainly a well deserving accomplishment!

Allie Kitchell: Let’s talk about our Tri-Athlete!! “Allie the Swimmer”, “Allie the Baller”, and of course, “Allie the Runner”. Most recently, Allie the Swimmer broke two Resurrection CYO Swimming records. The first was in the 25 Butterfly with a final time of 14.23. The second record broken was in the 50 Butterfly with a time of 34.86. Allie wouldn’t settle at just breaking records this season. She also took 1st place at the CYO Championship Meet for Swimming in the 50 Butterfly and the 25 Butterfly.
Allie the “baller” was recently awarded MVP for Rhawnhurst Basketball for the 2010 season. We can't wait to see what "Allie the Runner" will do this outdoor season.

Sydni Stovall: Sydni Stovall received “Principal’s Honor Roll” for the past two report periods of her current grade. Sydni has consistently maintained honor roll status, or higher since first grade. While in her current grade, Sydni has been an actor in two plays the school has presented. She played an “Oompa Loompa” in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory last December. Most recently, she played a “Munchkin” in the Wizard of Oz. After school, Sydni attends the Settlement Music School where she just received a certification in music for continued achievements in playing the piano. Sydni’s most recent track accomplishments include running her best indoor time in the 800 meter run. Her endeavors include improving her personal best times in middle to long distance events with an ultimate goal of participating in the Olympics!

Shamira Sweets: Shamira has been nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine (NYLF/MED) to be held this summer, 2010. A quote from Shamira’s acceptance letter into the program, "We first became aware of Shamira due to her academic achievement in completing the pre-ACT PLAN test, which reveals academic strengths and measures student progress. Shamira meets the high standards we set to qualify as an attending scholar."
Shamira is also a member of Health Explorers at Drexel University which meets twice a month at Hahnemann University Hospital. The explorers meet doctors and other healthcare professionals and visit different departments in the hospital. Shamira was really impressed by a Pathologist.
Sounds like we have a “Dr. Sweets” in the making!

Jordan Wilson: To add to her many on-going accomplishments on the Track and Field, most notably --- her Shot Put talents which are ranked nationally, Jordan’s school accomplishments are just as exciting. Jordan, a fourth grade student at the Bridgeport Elementary School, recently received two awards from her school: STAR Student Award and HEALTH Award.
